Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Imtiaz Interns App ("the Application," "Service," or "we"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you do not have permission to access the Application.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. Please read these Terms carefully before using our Application.

2. Description of Service

Imtiaz Interns App is a free, open-source, community-driven application designed for medical interns and healthcare professionals to:

• Track and document medical cases for educational purposes
• Manage work schedules and shift reminders
• Create and study from question banks
• Share educational cases with colleagues
• Track professional development and evaluations

The Application is provided solely for educational and self-tracking purposes and is not intended to replace professional judgment, medical records systems, or institutional requirements.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Application, you must register for an account. When you register, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

4. Google Sign-In

We offer sign-in through Google OAuth for your convenience. By using Google Sign-In, you:

• Authorize us to access your basic Google profile information (name, email, profile picture)
• Acknowledge that your use of Google services is also subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
• Understand you can revoke our access at any time through your Google account settings

We only request the minimum permissions necessary to provide our services. We do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, or any other Google services.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use the Application to:

• Store, process, or disclose personally identifiable patient information (PHI) or any data protected by HIPAA, GDPR, or other privacy laws
• Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or professional standards
• Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Use the Application for any commercial purpose without our consent
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Application

6. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create or upload to the Application ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process your content solely to provide the Service.

You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights to your User Content
• Your User Content does not violate any third party's rights
• Your User Content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws
• Your User Content does not contain protected health information

7. Case Sharing

The Application allows you to share cases with other users. When sharing cases:

• You are solely responsible for ensuring shared content is appropriate and does not contain protected information
• Recipients will have access based on the permissions you grant (view or comment)
• You can revoke sharing access at any time
• Shared cases may be visible to the users you specify

8. Intellectual Property

The Application and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are owned by the Imtiaz Interns App contributors and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The Application is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). You may view, fork, and contribute to the source code in accordance with the GPL license terms available at our GitHub repository.

9. Disclaimers

9.1 No Medical Advice

The Application is for educational and organizational purposes only. Nothing in this Application constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Always seek the advice of qualified healthcare professionals for medical decisions.

9.2 No Warranty

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9.3 No Affiliation

This project is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with any governmental, medical, academic, or commercial organization, including but not limited to hospitals, medical schools, or healthcare institutions.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPERS, CONTRIBUTORS, OR MAINTAINERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

• Direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
• Damages resulting from unauthorized access to or use of our servers
• Damages resulting from any interruption or cessation of the Service
• Damages resulting from any bugs, viruses, or similar harmful code
• Damages resulting from any content or conduct of third parties

This limitation applies whether the alleged liability is based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other basis, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damage.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the developers, contributors, and maintainers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Application.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may request deletion of your account and data by contacting us.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Application shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of these Terms.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the Service.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Imtiaz Interns App regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior and contemporaneous agreements, representations, and understandings.
